have you ever tried to cook a pumpkin, for pie or other food consumption? It’s more unpleasant than you’d think, with the exception of pumpkin seeds, which cook up better than you’d think. I know this is not relevant to the photo.
can’t be real…
i have tomi! the farm CSA i belong to always gives us pumpkins around this time of the year. what i learned is that not all pumpkins are good for cooking. the "normal" orange ones are not as good as the sugar pumpkins, which’re darker red or green (like the big red ones in this one). i’ve made pumpkin ravioli before, and amy made some pumpkin bread with a red pumpkin from this farm. i should bring some in the office so you can try it.
when i made ravioli the pumkin did break my blender though. arrrrgh!
you made ravioli, like, from scratch? um, you so totally rule will.
how about pumpkin ice cream? it’s my absolute favorite. mitchell’s has it right now…but you should try to make it! then invite me over.
